Second Primary Visit to the Leeds Waterstones store
This visit was conducted as after starting the design ideas to create the wayfinding systems i gain a greater knowlegde into their purpose and where they need to be situated, to get a feel of the areas available in the store place the design along with the ares i could work with it was necessary to revisit the store and collect more primary photos.
aim: go to the store to see areas where its possible to place wayfinding signs without obstructing product range/access, see what space i have to work with.
photos with areas of interest drawn on -
Main Suitable Places-
-book shelves plain sections
-chalk boards situated around the shops
-at the top of the stairs
-on the signs in the different sections
This research has allowed me to see the average sizes of the spaces the symbols will have to be places, the sizes vary massively so the symbols will have to work at both a larger and a smaller scale to fit these places and this research informed this decision.
