From first feedback it was made clear that the style idea for the page should be the memphis inspired design for the website. This is from feedback from peers as which fit within the boarder target audience therefore are potentional users of the site/store. The feedback was that is was currently the most popular, upbeat, revenant style as it has link to the vintage patterns, the sites current adverts as as well current trends. The audience felt due to its 90's links it could appeal to the target audeince age range as this is when they were born around. The bright, bold style reflect the interior of the stores as well as link the page more the the social media site as they uses this style in the imagery.
For the design of the website the first style applied was to add a busy eye catching conceptual background to the site, this is due to when visiting the store instead of the normal minimalist plain white walls the vintage store has uniquely brightly coloured or patterned walls. The aim of the site is to reflect the visual experince of visiting as this was part of the experince this feature was experimented with.
ISSUES - as it s current rend it will fade??

Cow Mock Ups
Other feedback from the crit was that the link to the Cow part of the name is a theme that could be used for years, it a more direct link to the company rather than any current trends which may need re-design in a few months . This was reinforce the brands name for the users as they are constantly reminded of the sites name as well as which site they are on. It a humorous play on the companies name which would appeal to the lighthearted audeince. Also the target audience will be vegan or animal friendly so this design style reflect the companies strong animal welfare believes, it reflect their nature as well as set the theme for their ethics.
The first pattern is a post modern 90’s pattern applied to the basic layout, the colourful eye catching background is a current trend that did appeal to the target market but feedback stated that as this is current trend quickly it will look dated.
ISSUES - over powering/tacky
Design is taken from the idea of applying the cow print background to the site to link to the company name.

70's Pattern Mock up
IDEA - apply a pattern taken from the wall decoration in physical stores, match the digital site via background design with the stores interior the fit with the aim of reflect the aesthetic.
The third is the site with the pattern from the manchester store wall applied, this wall is seen constantly in imagery post on instagram so linked to the social site feed as well as the physical store
Texture Mock ups - as one of the way the store presents it's self as vintage is via different textured/ decaying setting, these mock up test this style digitaly but one of the limitation of this media is that it cannot communicate text due to being a flat on screen design only. This means the mock up use photos of the texture rather than the actual texture, using a fake version of text is seen as cheap and tacky due to the association is it fake. Fake leathers or fake textures are seen as cheaper verison of the real thing there this gives off a tacky vibe to the site. This is a limitation of this media as the textures are heavily used to portray class, vintage in the store.
How can texture be used online without being tacky?
FEEDBACK -
After a crit for the these design ideas it was discussed that an overly powerful background like these shown distracts from the sites features and is too overpower for a digital site, makes it hard for the user to focus on the site.
