COLOUR - how to specify certain colours, colours can be very problematic due to different screens. There is 1000 of different options for each colour, to chose the needed colours,
hexadecimal code - 6 digit code, available on photoshop, via web colour, needs to be recorded
RGB - colours palette, specify the tone of the different RGB colours, records where it would be on the spectrum, available on photoshop again, not as compatible online
RGBA - red, green, blue, alpha, alpha works with opacity and colour overlays, due tone images this works for as its less file size.
type in colour - very inconsistent, don't know what shade of red , not recommended.
DONT SAY RED, CONSIDERATION OF ONE OF THESE IN DOCUMENTATION
looking for this brief to be ready to give to a developer, this output needs to be basic final.
brands will have their colour available, should be in their brand guide lines, but this isn't relevant due to we are cow house style being so inconsistent and the main colours used in the logo is just black and white, colours easily to translate online.
website -
alexa.com, http://www.alexa.com/
allows people to show the website people visit, most visited websites are google, youtube, facebook.
most popular website colour is - besides white/
social sites use more colours in there sites, a range of shades can be used but usually this are basically the same colours.
blue is the most used website colours, twice as many as red and yellow, 3 times as many as green but this colour is associated with more modern, digital design therefore using this colour could contrast with the ideas for the brand/website, its seen as cold and hard where are the site needs to see warm and welcoming.
TYPE-
used to only be a list of websafe font that could be used, therefore these are installed on all operation systems, these work better than other fonts but now all other fonts can be used, since 2007 any type can be used.
most popular typeface -Ariel, second - Helvetica Neu, Helvetica is 4th, this is relevant as this is the brand style the company uses,
80% of the top 25 typefaces used are san-serif, therefore this is the most popular and current, this could be used to fit with trends but also be used against to contrast current website style to make it stand out???
LAYOUT -
USE GRIDS
all interfaces should be designed to 12 column grid, but this uses the flexibility of having a range of different layout but still having a common grid used, these are used though out more webpages and gives visual consistence.
applied to current idea |
LEGAIBLTY -
make it over 12 pt, so its readable due to high contrast
