505 Design Practise 2 - Studio Brief 2 - Appropriation Workshop

In the workshop today the theme of appropriation was explored, over the day we have been given a range of magazine and materials to create a piece for the final crit at the end of the day.

The aim is use appropriation of image or text to change the subject of an image as shown by the seminar where this style of work was shown and discussed. The aim is to learn about artist who's work revolves around concepts of appropriation and subversion as to link to the outcome for this brief.

Overall this activity was really interesting, this was due to nature of learning how the subject of a piece can be changed the addiction or subtraction of a vital element.This showed how work of other can be used to for outcomes via the changing of this element.

The whole tone, impression and subject of the images used are completely altered by the use of the text as to give another theme to the piece. This is done effectively via a punk DIY style. This shows should be consider for the outcome for this brief as the outcome would be changed to fit another aim or the outcome could be this style.
