505 Design Practise 2 - Studio Brief 1- Production method Considerations

Production Method Considerations

For this outcome the final print has to be produced manually, the final outcome for this brief must be a non digital print, due to this the print methods should be used to enhance the final outcome.

Mono Print
benefits-
create abstract patterns
unique pattern every time
create artists outcome

downsides-
hard to control
hard to produce type
hard to get an aimed outcome
hard to recreate detail

Screen Print
benefits -
can be designed digitally
will be accurate to the design
can produce detail and type easily
can use glow in the dark/fluorescent ink
can make many similar prints

downside-
time consuming
can go wrong easily
hard to layers
hard to create lots colours

Letter Press
benefits
easy to recreated
can do type
can do sliver prints

downside
hard to do imagery/impossible
very messy
hard to do
time consuming

After considering the range of print techniques that could be sued for the final outcome due to the image heavy research letterpress will not be used and due to the accurate nature of screen print this will be sued as the Chinese letterform would be difficult to mono print correctly. This medium can also be use fluorescent and glow in the dark ink, this has been discussed earlier asa very effective idea for this bref out.
