Money Redesigns Research

As this brief was to produce a bank note even thought not a practical one, research was conducted into existing used bank notes from around the world, past notes and redesigns, this was to find the features that all these note include. The feature and ideas that all these notes links together will show was defines bank notes, what people associated with bank note design, the information they need to include, common detail they include, purpose and what influences their design. This gave a greater knowlegde into how to create a piece of design which reflects the subject area of bank notes, it defined the important details that need to be include which are seen in all the research which is country, amount.

It also showed what traditionally and what designer feel should be reflect one bank notes, one of the main feature seen throughout all the design was that they celebrated a theme. This ranged from landmarks to scientist but all the notes looked at shows that the usual design of a bank note is to celebrate a theme. The notes reflect the view the country wanted to portray or celebrate as good as they are design by the country and selected, they are national celebration in the form of currency. This was different for the re-designed notes, these focus on issues the designer felt aren't celebrated enough, like scientists or nature but still this is a common theme. Another main aspect of bank note deign is security, this is so the note cannot easily be copied or faked but as this is none practical brief this wasn't relevant to the design of this note
