406 Studio Brief 3 - Collaboration Brief - Initial Ideas

First mind map ideas as a group -


As a group we then came up with a few different ideas for the concept of the exhibition, this was based around what made our exhibition different, why should people visit and what is it about. 

These where
-the ‘unexpected exhibition’
This is taken form the slogan for first direct as this is one of the sponsors of this exhibition, this is to do an exhibition but keep all the content and subject secret then unravel it on the night, brand the exhibitions unexpected. Be a unexpected topic, have the branding and all the promotion work done to raise awareness but with a content, keep it brief but the needed information to cause excitement in the audience and make them want to come to see the unravel on the opening night.

-the ‘colour of money’
This is a film, but the title has become a come phrase used by a wide range of people therefore will catch really easily but the idea is that as all the money int he exhibition will be completely different colour/design it a exhibition where the content will be completely different which make it special but hard to fit the design around to match all the work. This is to keep the exhibition black and white, have the only colour of the exhibition the money it’s self, this will give a common branding to the exhibition that fits with all the work but also means that when the audience visit the money will be the main attraction as it’ll be the only part that uses colour, this will focus mostly on the content of the exhibition and draw the audience too it. 

-print your own money
This idea is to have the exhibition involve some from of interruptive printing system for the audience, to allow them to print their money/invite/pennies when they visit the exhibition. this idea involved the audience to interact with the exhibition and appetite the tim taken to do the production for this exhibition they cab see how hard it was to make the note designs. could be branded as ‘free money’ to make people want to come as they will revise free money (not useable money)

-collaborative exhibition
This idea was to involve creatives/studios to join in and produce work for the exhibition too, this would target the audience we are aiming for and will make them more like to come down and visit if they can see other their work too.Also allows us to involve already famous artists in the exhibited and use they as a way of promotional work, Set them a brief to design coin, then have part of the space for this work to be exhibited 

-‘reverse’ exhibition

 This idea is to reverse back peoples idea of money, appeal associated money with annoying or bring this is to turn this idea around and celebrate money full potential and show the audience how beautiful it can be.This also link to the idea we have of receiving back to the method of traditional print which has been used for all these note designs.
