Elles, Rebranding Feminism
Elle magazine has paired a range of design companies Mother, Brave and Widen & Kennedy with three groups of feminists, to create campaigns that try to define the modern face of feminism, for its November issue in 2013. The idea was to removes the stereotype by working with a range of designer to explore ways this can be done for their issue.

This comment on the video is exactly what this brief aims to change, this shows the problem as feminist are seen as a hate group and greatly miss represented/understood. Feminism is not a hate group |

THIS WAS AN IDEA FOR THE BRIEF OUTCOME FOR GENDER PAY GAP
- based around women not equality, not board
-bright/eye catching due to contrasting colour scheme
-'feminine' colours but not used in a feminine way due to the design style
-aims at women but not 'girly'
-makes a bold strong statement due to type/colour choice
-type is very harsh, uppercase use shows strong bold piece
-aimed around removing stereotypes, aims around turning around the names/ideas applied to women
-very negative due to 'not' tone
-'i'm woman' again based around women not equailty
-about raising women up
-good at showing the issue/showing need to change
THIS IS AN IDEA FOR THIS BRIEF OUTCOME YET NEEDS CHANGING, THIS AS ISSUES AS THE DESIGN REFLECTS A VERY FEMINIE DESIGN STYLE ADDING TO THE STEREOTYPE.
-around the term feminist rather then feminism
-very agressive type style design
-them made apparent at the start rather than a 'surprise'/to change ideas
-aimed at women
-facts purely about females
For this brief the current idea is almost/very similar to creating a combination of the styles, concepts and the design of the first piece of design with the last situated here. The idea is to create a strong brand for feminism which brand it as a non-girly, strong valid ideology which attracts attention on social media sites.
the aim is - To create a product/campaign which the aims of educating about the correct definition of feminism, inform the audience against the current stigma as to combat and be excepted rather than the current popular incorrect negative stereotype. To show feminism as a strong viable beliefs aimed around equality rather than just at female empowerment or 'men hating'. The final idea must aim to allowed the audience to realize their current perception are incorrect but in a way thats allows them learn and apply the term to themselves or their believes.
