MISSION STATEMENT
YCN - Elevating Creative Excellence, Through longstanding international award programms.
PRIZE -
‘Launched in 2001, the annual YCN Student Awards uniquely shine a light on emerging creative excellence. The programme runs closely alongside leading Universities, Colleges and Art & Design Schools around the world. The YCN Student Awards are based around a collection of live creative briefs, written each year by diverse partnering organisations — united in the value they place on creativity. We believe that creativity is a vital tool in driving commercial, organisational and social change.
Students, and those to have graduated within the last 12 months, are invited to take part — and submit their work by the 23rd March 2017.
Submissions are rigorously assessed by the organisations that wrote each brief, before winning entrants are published and awarded at a splendid Ceremony each year. All winning work is showcased in the pages of the YCN Annual. 15,000 copies of the Annual are distributed across education, and across the creative industries internationally.
The YCN Student Awards enable all those that take part to benefit from engaging with thoroughly contemporary communication challenges, and give increased confidence, visibility and employability to all those that excel within them.
The Call for Entries for the 2016/17 programme was launched on 24th October 2016. The deadline for submissions is March 23rd 2017.’
No Prize Money for this competition, but the an award is given which is widely recognized and will improve CVs

Orchard Pig, design a advertisement or link to social media
ANNUAL COMPARISON-
The d&ad annual design , are usually image heavy, white space heavy publication that represent luxury via the stock choice and the modernist layout style, perfect bound to allow for full flat view of the pages. A decorative expressive cover used to express deign that contrast with the inside simplicity. Clinical, intimating feel to the books, very professional serious compared to the YCM design with was a more playful creative design. The YCM annual was a more vibrant, expressive feel to ti rather than the heavy, minimal design style used in the D&AD.

These are feature that will need to be refereed to for the entries for this brief, this is as this is what makes the winner stand out, how the winner achieve their awards. Throughout this module these feature will need to be relevantly applied as well as influence the works produced to make sure that it fits with the ideas of past winners, it will make the work more suitable for the briefs.
Although after looking at the D&AD award and the YCN in comparison the D&AD has the better prize for the winner and had more information on how to stand out ect, i've selected to look at YCN briefs more for this projects. This is as after looking at the winner, outcomes, companies and the briefs set by the companies in comparison the YCN ones fit with my style of work better, they are more creative playful expressive style of graphic design so i would enjoy these briefs more as well as my style of working will fit their aims better increasing my chance at winning. Also there are no briefs for D&AD that i feel particular interested in or feel i have much control over the final output where as for YCN there's a lot more freedom which what i can create which will work well as i'm unsure with want i aim to produce for this brief.
