Need to do 1 larger brief, then 2/3 smaller ones

-boring can be good cause less people interested, less competition
-wide open brief to create innovative ideas and concepts, be different to everyone else
-research the history, important
-have an open view on the companies, no bias
-dig deep into company
-wide range of briefs to pick, find a subjects that links to ambitions/interested
-developed profile piece for what i want to do
-WILL USE IN PORTFOLIO
-its designed for professional designers, not for student, demand a professional reponce
-different from the rest of studio work
-skill development for presenting work
-work needs to speak for itself
-PHOTOGRAPHY NEED TO BE PROFESSIONAL

ethics of the competition

-RESEARCH OTHER DESIGN SCHEMES TO COMPERE ETHICS
-use it as a positive experience, as learning as well as prize

size - A format, 181mmx111mm, B format 198mmx129mm, other sizes where used for different series, sometimes metric sizes are used (A5/A4)
elements that have to be included, has to be order to it , famous penguin grid systems
uses gill sans
price never on the cover

ILLUSTATION has ben used heavily and this brief can be a way to experiment with it more
don't not use computer first
use print ideas
analyze the brief and people responding to them, most will be computer, working physically can have benefits.
penguin is often grid heavy design, a constant grid would be applied to an artistic approach to work allowing different design but keeping a house style.

SECRET SEVEN
7 songs will be given in January by the company and there will be a range of winners for each song, this competition can have more than one every per song. The covers cannot include the brand name or the the song title, can be obvious or not.
Songs haven't been released yet, they will be in January signed up for he email to receive them as soon as possible.
CAN BE ANYTHING, TYPE HEAVY/ILLUSTRATOR HEAVY
will do multiple outcomes
can experiment more with this brief

the websites says it already finished but its not been active, simon is going to email the comapny to see if its available this year for entry


For this brief the final outputs have to be submitted to the competitions, this means that need to be finished for the deadlines for all the briefs available
