Kate Prior
Kate Prior is a graphic/illustration artist that specialises mostly in poster design or leaflet work, her work is mostly for gigs and targets a young adult audience due to the bright contrast colour schemes. casual edgy nature of the work. I have seen some of the illustration for events/gigs situated in Leeds and came around her work after asking someone at Nation of Shopkeepers who designer their posters. As gig poster design/album design/advertising is a pathway i'm thinking of taking in the future this artist has inspired me by showing how diverse poster design can be, it doesn't have to just be a picture of the artist with a logo but completely unrelated if it engaged with the target audience.
The illustration style she uses is a style i will look apply to my work in the future, the stipple bold colour scheme that contrast to add a retro inspired feel, colours are den a lot in 90s clothing and fashion. The type also mimics styles uses in this decade but its modernised but the illustrations.
